Our Favorite Texas Restaurants to Order Takeout From Right Now

What makes Texas great is our pride. That translates into loving our land, loving our people, and loving our products. It means living as locally as possible and supporting small businesses that are Texas born and bred.

There’s never been a more important time to support our Texan community spirit. Some of the hardest hit by this pandemic are independent restaurants that defined what Texan cuisine is and brought it to national attention. Our support of these businesses allows them to take care of their employees and refrain from shutting their doors.

We’ve rounded up some of our favorite restaurants in Texas that continue to make delicious food, and now allow us these comforts from our couches! These are our partners who we proudly sell our Texas Olive Oil to – because eating Texan is rooted in buying Texan through support of local farms and purveyors. Like us at Texas Olive Ranch, they are all following CDC and local government recommendations on top of the meticulous standards of the food service industry while trying to keep staff employed and safe.

We implore you to support them during this difficult time by ordering takeout or delivery. If possible, order directly from the restaurants rather than through third-party apps which may take a high percentage.

Sour Duck Market

Sour Duck is offering online ordering and in-store pickup Wednesday through Sunday 11am – 8pm when you order here. Delivery orders can be placed through the Favor App, while pickup happens at the front door on the MLK side of the building. They have large format dinners available like Fried Whole Smoked Chicken and a pound of Smoked Brisket which can feed the whole family or provide a couple days’ worth of meals, and they have kids’ food available, too.

Better Half

They’re using Toast to accept pickup and delivery orders for both food and alcohol. Their to-go drinks include mimosas, bloody marys, and michelada packs to go. New hours are Mon-Fri 10am-10pm and Sat-Sun 9am-10pm, and they’re even doing happy hour every day from 1pm-4pm!

As of this week, Suerte launched a takeout menu dubbed “Suerte Taqueria.” Yes, they finally have chips and guac! They are also continuing to offer Suadero Taco and Migas meal kits. They are open Tuesday through Saturday, from 12pm to 8pm through Thursday and 9pm Friday and Saturdays.

This farm-to-table restaurant is open for pickup from 5pm-8pm. You can order online here. They’re making fried chicken with biscuits until they sell out every Sunday, and bottles of wine are 50% off.

Nancy’s Hustle

Nancy’s Hustle is offering composed dinners for two for $60. They have a different menu each day from Wednesday to Sunday, while also offering an Indian-inspired vegetarian dinner option every day of the week. You can reserve dinner through Tock, ordering in advance for pickup between 4pm and 8pm.

Roost is open for to-go orders and delivery only, with updated hours of Mon-Sun 4PM-9PM. All food is discounted 15% off of the normal price (the discount is reflected on the online menu) and a mandatory 10% gratuity will be added to all orders. Additional tipping is at your discretion, but it’s absolutely appreciated! Bottles of wine are also 30% off.

Make Restaurant-Worthy Dishes At Home

You can still support local businesses when you’re not eating out. With restaurants closed and doing less businesses, a lot of farms, local purveyors, and food manufacturers are also struggling to keep their ships afloat. Texas Olive Ranch is still open, operating with increased safety measures, of course, in order to keep our employees and customers safe. Ordering our delicious olive oil is a great way to support the Texas economy while keeping busy at home by trying out new recipes. We’re offering customers fast, free, priority shipping on all orders over $49. Just enter coupon code FREESHIP at checkout or in your cart.
